Innovation in Action – ERS News & Projects

ERS Industrial Project News from Engineered Recycling Systems shares real-world updates, installations, and system upgrades across metals processing, paper converting, and dust control. This page highlights customer success stories, new technologies, and behind-the-scenes insights from ERS field teams and engineering partners.

In the metals sector, ERS has recently completed turnkey installations for copper wire chopping, aluminum separation, and rare earth recovery from printed circuit boards. These projects feature advanced granulation lines, magnetic and eddy current separators, and air classification systems designed to isolate high-value fractions from complex scrap. Each system is tailored to the facility’s layout and material flow, with rapid ROI and minimal downtime.

ERS also delivers major innovations in the paper converting industry. Recent news includes dust and trim removal systems for rotary die cutters, Flexo Folder Gluers, and corrugated production lines. These installations feature the CCM® OCT Filter—a fully enclosed, low-maintenance solution that operates without compressed air or regeneration cycles. OEMs and machine builders are now integrating ERS dust control into their standard offerings.

Across industrial scrap handling, ERS continues to retrofit and upgrade non-ERS systems. From pneumatic transport lines to magnetic separation platforms, ERS engineers deliver modular solutions that improve air quality, reduce maintenance, and meet evolving compliance standards. Field service teams provide on-site diagnostics, training, and performance tuning to ensure long-term reliability.

ERS Industrial Project News is updated regularly with new case studies, system highlights, and customer feedback. Whether you're in metals, paper, or dust-intensive environments, this page offers a window into how ERS systems are solving real-world challenges and driving operational excellence.

Engineered Recycling Systems (ERS) supports recyclers and logistics partners who handle bulk returns of small electronics from major retailers. These returns—classified as e-waste or e-scrap—include chargers, headphones, tablets, and accessories that are no longer sellable but still contain recoverable copper, aluminum, and trace metals.

ERS systems are designed to process pre-sorted or bulk-fed material streams, isolating valuable metal fractions through calibrated airflow, magnetic and eddy current separation, and advanced filtration. Dust control and trace metal recovery are built into every system, with optional CCM® OCT filters available for enhanced compliance and workplace safety.

Whether you're handling retail returns, liquidation lots, or mixed e-waste, ERS systems deliver consistent performance and maximize ROI. Each system is tailored to fit your layout, throughput goals, and material mix—helping reduce landfill volume and strengthen your competitive position in the electronics recycling market.

With demand for copper, aluminum, and rare metals rising across EV, consumer tech, and renewable sectors, recovering metals from retail e-waste and e-scrap is a strategic advantage. ERS helps recyclers turn complexity into opportunity.

If your operation handles electronics returns and wants to recover more from every device, ERS is ready to deliver a solution engineered for results.

ERS supports scrap yards with integrated and upgraded ASR fines recovery systems designed to maximize copper and aluminum yield from automotive shredder residue.
ERS Helps Scrap Yards Upgrade ASR Fines Recovery Systems for Higher Metal Yield
by Andreas Fischer
0

Engineered Recycling Systems (ERS) is helping scrap yards across North America unlock more value from their automotive shredder residue (ASR) by upgrading fines recovery systems or integrating new ones into existing ASR lines. As demand for copper, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals continues to rise, maximizing recovery from ASR fines is no longer optional—it’s essential.

ERS systems are engineered to extract high-purity metals from the fines stream, which often contains overlooked fractions of valuable material. Whether a facility is already running fines recovery or only processing coarse ASR, ERS can design and install a tailored solution that fits the current layout and boosts overall yield. This includes complete fines recovery integration for operations that have not yet tapped into the potential of their ASR fines.

The recovery process uses calibrated airflow, magnetic and eddy current separation, and advanced filtration to isolate copper, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals from car fluff and mixed shredder residue. Dust control and compliance are built into every system, with optional CCM® OCT filters available to capture airborne particles and recover trace metal fines.

ERS works directly with scrap yards to assess existing performance, identify recovery gaps, and configure systems that meet throughput goals while reducing waste. With proven results in demanding applications, ERS equipment helps facilities recover more metal, reduce landfill volume, and strengthen their competitive position in the recycling market.

If your operation is ready to upgrade its ASR fines recovery—or add fines recovery to an existing ASR line—ERS is ready to deliver a solution engineered for results.

Final-phase installation of ERS scrap and dust collection system for Göpfert rotary die cutter—custom-engineered, not OEM-affiliated
Clean Cut: ERS Finishes Integrated Scrap and Dust Solution for Göpfert RDC HBL
by ERS
0

ERS is in the final stages of installing a custom-engineered scrap and dust collection system for one of our customers operating a Göpfert rotary die cutter. This project is still in progress, with commissioning and final integration underway. While the system is designed to interface seamlessly with the Göpfert RDC HBL, ERS is not affiliated with Göpfert or any OEM. Our work is built around the machine, the layout, and the customer’s goals—not the brand.

The system captures trim and airborne dust directly at the die cutter interface, preserving print quality and maintaining consistent airflow. Scrap is conveyed through a vacuum transfer system and discharged via modular options tailored to the facility’s infrastructure. At the heart of the system is our CCM® OCT Filter, which operates without compressed air, regeneration cycles, or external housings—delivering clean, reliable filtration with minimal maintenance.

This installation continues a broader initiative to modernize converting environments and eliminate the inefficiencies of legacy dust systems. ERS systems are engineered to run clean, run smart, and run reliably. Completion is near—and the results will speak for themselves.

If your facility is still relying on baghouses, rotary airlocks, or external filter housings, it’s time to rethink what clean converting should look like. Let’s build something better—start your upgrade with ERS.

In corrugated and paperboard production, speed and uptime are everything. Yet many facilities still rely on legacy dust and scrap systems that introduce complexity, downtime, and exposure. External filter housings—whether mounted beside the building or above it—require structural accommodations, weather protection, and frequent maintenance. Baghouse filters in particular demand periodic regeneration cycles, compressed air, and pressure monitoring to stay operational.

ERS systems eliminate that model entirely.

Our integrated dust and scrap recovery solutions are built to operate entirely within the facility footprint. No external housings. No regeneration cycles. No pressure spikes. And critically—no rotary airlocks. By removing the need for these oversized, maintenance-heavy components, ERS systems simplify discharge, reduce wear, and eliminate a common failure point in traditional designs.

The CCM® Filter uses a rotating and oscillating nozzle system that cleans the filter media automatically every few minutes—without compressed air, without manual intervention, and without interrupting production. Dust is separated and discharged into compact containers, ready for disposal or reuse. The system maintains consistent airflow and filtration without relying on explosion venting protocols or external dependencies.

ERS systems are designed for corrugated producers who want performance without compromise. If your current setup still depends on external filter housings, baghouse cycles, and rotary airlocks, it may be time to rethink what modern dust control should look like.
