An Engineering Company Not a Machine Supplier
Engineered Recycling Systems designs, builds and services complete material handling systems for American manufacturers and recyclers, and our engineers have been doing this work since 1989. We are an engineering company first. Our customers don't buy a fan, a filter or a conveyor from us; they buy a system that takes waste out of a production process and sends it back out of the building as a clean, saleable commodity.
The converting and paper side
Trim, dust and offcuts are the by-product of every converting, printing and corrugating operation. Left alone they jam machines, slow changeovers, wreck housekeeping standards and create a combustible dust exposure nobody wants to explain to an inspector.
An ERS system takes that material out automatically: pickup points at the machine, ducting sized for the real air volume, a separator that drops the material out of the airstream, and a filter that returns clean air to the building instead of heating it twice.
For continuous operations we specify the CCM® OCT filter, which cleans itself while it runs — no cleaning cycle, no shutdown, nothing electrical inside the dust. You can see how we build trim removal systems at the machine, how our industrial dust collection systems handle the air, and how vacuum transfer air dust collection carries the material between the two.
Industry by industry, that chain runs through corrugated box plants, folding carton converting, tissue converting and paper mills, with the full equipment range on the paper converting systems page.
The metals side
Further down the line we design metal recovery and refining systems for scrap processors, recyclers and manufacturers who need maximum yield, clean separation and market-ready output — copper wire and cable, shredder wire, meatballs and electric motor scrap, ACSR wire, ASR and e-scrap.
Recovered material is worth exactly what a buyer will pay for it, and a buyer pays for purity. Our separation systems are built to produce streams clean enough to sell as a commodity rather than be discounted as mixed scrap. That difference shows up on every load that leaves the yard, and it is why most of these systems pay for themselves out of material revenue rather than out of a maintenance budget.
Upstream of separation we supply the shears, balers and sizing equipment that prepare the feedstock, including the full TAURUS scrap shear and baler range, and the wider picture sits under metals processing and scrap metal recycling systems.
How a project actually runs
Every one of these systems starts the same way. Someone from ERS walks the building, measures the material volumes, looks at the existing ducting and talks to the people who run the machines, because nothing here gets quoted off a drawing alone.
We then engineer the air volumes, pickup velocities, separator sizing and filter selection, along with the route the ductwork genuinely has to take through your plant. We fabricate, deliver and install around your production schedule so the line comes down once, briefly, and comes back up working. Then we balance it under real load and train your maintenance people before we leave.
Proving it on your own material
Where the question is recovery rather than air, the ERS test facility in Atlanta settles it. Send your material and we run it through a real process flow, so the system gets designed around your feedstock rather than around a figure from a brochure.
After we leave
It stays our system — spare parts and field service out of Atlanta for as long as you run it. Some of the installations we look after today were commissioned decades ago, and that is the part of this business we are most careful about.
Recent work is written up under project news and system updates.
