Innovation in Action – ERS News & Projects

ERS Industrial Project News from Engineered Recycling Systems shares real-world updates, installations, and system upgrades across metals processing, paper converting, and dust control. This page highlights customer success stories, new technologies, and behind-the-scenes insights from ERS field teams and engineering partners.

In the metals sector, ERS has recently completed turnkey installations for copper wire chopping, aluminum separation, and rare earth recovery from printed circuit boards. These projects feature advanced granulation lines, magnetic and eddy current separators, and air classification systems designed to isolate high-value fractions from complex scrap. Each system is tailored to the facility’s layout and material flow, with rapid ROI and minimal downtime.

ERS also delivers major innovations in the paper converting industry. Recent news includes dust and trim removal systems for rotary die cutters, Flexo Folder Gluers, and corrugated production lines. These installations feature the CCM® OCT Filter—a fully enclosed, low-maintenance solution that operates without compressed air or regeneration cycles. OEMs and machine builders are now integrating ERS dust control into their standard offerings.

Across industrial scrap handling, ERS continues to retrofit and upgrade non-ERS systems. From pneumatic transport lines to magnetic separation platforms, ERS engineers deliver modular solutions that improve air quality, reduce maintenance, and meet evolving compliance standards. Field service teams provide on-site diagnostics, training, and performance tuning to ensure long-term reliability.

ERS Industrial Project News is updated regularly with new case studies, system highlights, and customer feedback. Whether you're in metals, paper, or dust-intensive environments, this page offers a window into how ERS systems are solving real-world challenges and driving operational excellence.

ERS Redefines Metal Recovery: In-House ASR Processing vs. Outsourcing
by ERS
0

For decades, recyclers have depended on large-scale processors to handle Auto Shredder Residue (ASR), copper-rich scrap, and complex metal streams. While this model offers convenience, it often comes at the cost of control, speed, and profitability. Material is shipped out, margins are compressed, and recyclers are left waiting for someone else to determine the value of their output.

ERS offers a different path.

Our ASR processing systems are engineered for recyclers who want to own their process from start to finish. Whether you're handling Shredder Wire, ICW, tailings, or full ASR streams, ERS systems allow you to process material on-site—eliminating third-party contracts, shipping delays, and margin erosion.

With a modular, turnkey approach, ERS systems are tailored to fit your facility and your scrap profile. We focus heavily on copper recovery, knowing that even small improvements in yield can translate into significant gains in profitability. Our technology is backed by real-world validation, and our test facility is open for performance trials—so you can see the results before you invest.

In-house processing isn’t just about equipment—it’s about empowerment. You control the throughput. You keep the value. You claim the profit.

ERS systems are built for recyclers who are ready to stop outsourcing their margins and start owning their results.

ERS Systems Ready for New ReMA Vesper Standard in Aluminum Recovery
by ERS
0

The Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) has introduced Vesper, a new aluminum scrap specification focused on preserving the integrity of high-grade wrought aluminum recovered from vehicles, buildings, and industrial applications. As demand grows for clean, traceable, and circular aluminum recycling, Vesper sets a clear benchmark for purity and process control.

Vesper defines strict thresholds for magnesium, zinc, iron, and nonmetallics, and requires dry, non-oxidized material free of sealed or pressurized components. These standards aim to prevent high-quality aluminum from being downcycled into lower-grade cast alloys, supporting closed-loop reuse in manufacturing.

Engineered Recycling Systems designs and builds the recovery platforms that make this level of precision possible. Our modular systems—trusted across copper and aluminum wire processing—can be configured to support Vesper-grade separation and throughput. From granulation and air separation to magnetic and eddy current sorting, ERS technology empowers recyclers to meet evolving specifications with confidence.

If your operation is preparing for Vesper-grade aluminum recovery, ERS is ready to engineer the solution. Let’s build it together.

No Explosion Venting Required: ERS CCM® OCT Filters Redefine Facility Safety Standards
by ERS
0

Engineered Recycling Systems has redefined industrial air filtration with its patented CCM® OCT Filter System—a compact, non-combustible solution that eliminates the need for explosion venting, external housings, or relief panels.

Unlike traditional systems, CCM® OCT filters are built for internal safety with antistatic components, grounded suction nozzles, and direct sprinkler compatibility. This allows safe installation inside production areas—without added infrastructure or manual cleaning.

💡 “Combustible dust shouldn’t dictate your facility design,” says ERS. “Our filters operate safely, efficiently, and visibly—without explosion risks or layout compromises.”

Compliance Note While CCM® OCT Filters are engineered to eliminate the need for explosion venting, all installations must comply with applicable local fire and safety codes. Site-specific adaptations to sprinkler systems, grounding protocols, and facility layout may be required based on jurisdictional standards and risk assessments.

ERS Nears Completion of Dual-Feed Two-Ram Baler System for OCC and Bad Rolls
by ERS
0

Engineered Recycling Systems (ERS) is finalizing installation of a dual-feed two-ram baler system designed to optimize OCC handling with high throughput and operational flexibility.

System Configuration This custom setup includes two input paths:

Roll Shear: Rolls are cut and discharged directly onto the conveyor.
Pit Conveyor Feed: Operators can load bulk OCC through a secondary conveyor.

Both feeds converge onto the single nose over conveyor that delivers material into the two-ram baler. The baler compresses the scrap into dense, uniform bales for transport or recycling. Final tuning is underway to ensure seamless integration with the facility’s workflow.

Installation Highlights

Dual-feed configuration
Two-ram baler for high-density output
Integrated conveyor logic for synchronized material flow
Ease of operation
