TAURUS BLACKLINE Inclined Shears
Continuous, high-volume shearing. The TR Series combines an inclined feed, vertical compression and oscillating side lids to deliver fast cycle times on heavy, mixed and bulky scrap.
TAURUS scrap processing equipment is integrated into ERS-engineered systems, bringing TAURUS inclined shears, shear balers and pre-shredders into complete ERS-designed scrap processing layouts. ERS partners with TAURUS, combining six decades of European heavy-duty machine design with U.S.-based system engineering, controls integration and lifecycle support.
Founded in 1964 in Daverio, Italy, TAURUS is one of the most respected manufacturers of inclined shears, shear balers, pre-shredders and hammer mills — machines built to handle the toughest scrap streams in continuous operation.
More than 1,000 installations in over 50 countries, with a reputation built on durability, throughput and long service life in demanding industrial environments. That is a longer record than most of the equipment it competes against.
Longevity matters on a shear more than on almost any other machine in a yard. The structure takes a shock load on every cycle, and the difference between a design that has been refined over decades and one that has not shows up in the frame long before it shows up in the specification sheet.
ERS brings the complete TAURUS product line to the U.S. market with local engineering, integration, installation and service behind it. European-built machinery, backed by a domestic team that can deliver turnkey system design, automation and long-term technical support.
For existing TAURUS owners in the U.S. that means faster response times, one point of contact instead of a time zone, and a single partner for equipment, upgrades and future system integration — see spare parts and service.
ERS engineers are TAURUS-certified and based in the United States. On a machine that earns money only on the days it runs, that is usually worth more than any line on a datasheet.
TAURUS inclined shears deliver high cutting force and long-term reliability through the patented SB swinging-wing compression system, a twin-cylinder shear head and Hardox-reinforced structures.
The BLACKLINE TR Series combines an inclined feed, vertical compression and oscillating side lids for fast cycle times on heavy, mixed and bulky scrap.
The BLULINE machines do compression and shearing in one unit, producing dense bales and clean cuts from light scrap through to heavy.
The same engineering extends into mobile and transportable machines. The MIZAR baler processes bulky material directly, with a tank-shaped compression chamber of 1000 x 600 mm — roughly 39 by 24 inches — built from two flat swinging lids hinged to each other and lined throughout with thick wear-resistant steel plate.
Specified with three cylinders per lid, each lid reaches up to 300 tons of compression force, matched by the feed cylinder. On rigid material such as end-of-life steel transport racks, that is enough to fold and consolidate in a single pass, reducing initial volume by 70 to 80 percent and turning loose, awkward scrap into dense, regular bales that stack, store and ship.
TAURUS pre-shredders provide aggressive breakdown of profiles, demolition scrap, heavy plate, ELVs, mixed scrap and oversized industrial material, which improves downstream flow and raises system throughput.
The REDLINE range covers the BRAVO pre-shredder, which stabilizes shredder load, and the REDMILL hammer mill, which produces dense, furnace-ready output. The TLINE range is the compact end, built for liberation rather than bulk — the DIMILL frees metals from WEEE and motors, the DELTA shear sizes mixed material, and the BIBLO baler needs no foundation.
Mobile and transportable machines mean processing can go to the material rather than the material coming to a fixed plant. That suits demolition contractors and operations working across multiple yards, where trucking low-density scrap to a central facility costs more than the material is worth.
The three mobile machines — HIRU, MIZAR and ELLE — are covered on mobile and transportable shear balers.
Incorporating TAURUS machinery into ERS-engineered layouts gives recyclers an integrated solution: proven European equipment, U.S. controls and ERS system design, with optimized material flow, conveyor and separation interfaces and dust control designed in.
It also supports the TAURUS operating system, with real-time diagnostics, adaptive cutting programs and cycle-time optimization.
Behind the shear, the rest of the line matters as much: shredders and mills, midlings and tailings recovery, ASR processing and copper wire and cable where those streams are present.
With your material and your site, not with a model number. ERS looks at what arrives, in what volume and what condition, then specifies the machine against it.
Material can be run at the ERS test facility in Atlanta before anything is committed. Every machine ERS supplies is installed, commissioned and supported by ERS.
If you are planning a new scrap processing line or upgrading an existing one, contact ERS to talk through what a system built around your material would look like.
